1. Information We Collect

Kanji Tree is designed to collect absolutely minimal information:

• Crash Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data. This includes device model, operating system version, crash stack traces, and anonymous device identifiers. This data helps us identify and fix bugs.
• Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as app sessions, screen views, and aggregated learning milestones (e.g. items learned, quizzes completed). This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the learning experience.
• None of this data contains personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or individual learning progress.
• Store Information: When you purchase or download the app via Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those platforms collect transaction and device information according to their respective privacy policies. We only receive aggregated, anonymized metrics (like total downloads) from these platforms.

2. Data Storage and Security

Your learning progress (such as your timeline, learned kanji and words, practice queue, and quiz results) is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. The security and privacy of this data rely entirely on the security of your own device.

If you choose to uninstall the application or use the internal "Reset All Progress" feature, your data will be permanently deleted from your device. We do not maintain backups of your local data.

3. Third-Party Services

Kanji Tree uses Firebase services by Google for crash reporting, app stability monitoring, and anonymous usage analytics. Firebase processes this data according to Google's Firebase privacy policy.

4. Push Notifications

Kanji Tree may use local push notifications for study reminders. These notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device and do not require your data to be sent to a remote server.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
